My First Offer

Well my friends – it looks like the job ball is beyond twitching and is beginning to roll. Yesterday was quite a hectic day in terms of employment activity. In the morning I had an interview on Wall Street with a big financial company. And you definitely know you are on Wall Street when the corner deli has it’s own electronic ticker board above the salad bar. That was quite interesting. The interview went well and when I got home – I received a call from a company that I interviewed with last week. The HR person called to inform me that they were extending an offer of employment. I told him “I would like to think about it for a few days”. Then about a few hours later – I received another call requesting for an in person interview at my previous company whom I just had a phone interview with last week. And then lastly, at about 8:30 at night I received yet another call at another major financial institution to schedule a phone interview for next week. So as you can see – while it was a little hectic – it was definitely a good problem to have.

Bob, way to go... I just knew it was a matter of time before things started to happen. So, have you begun to look at places to live? With a work address like 1 Wall Street you will also need a prominent home address. Park Avenue? Trump Towers? A loft in Soho? Make sure you have extra room(s) for your friends! I would like a separate bath too! Hardwood floors would be nice. Make sure there is an elevator... I am old and can't climb lots of stairs!
